Harmony Week is a national celebration of Australia鈥檚 rich cultural diversity and our shared commitment to inclusiveness, respect, and belonging. The theme "Everyone Belongs"聽remains at the heart of this celebration鈥攁 timely reminder of the importance of unity in diversity.
At 萌妹社, we are proud of our vibrant and diverse student body and the strong culture of inclusivity that defines our school community. Harmony Day is a much-loved tradition on our calendar, providing a special opportunity for the whole school to come together in a spirit of understanding and joy.
Due to a busy assessment period during the official Harmony Week with Year 12 students completing HSC tasks and Years 7 and 9 undertaking NAPLAN, GHS celebrated Harmony Day on the final Friday of Term 1. This adjustment ensured that every student could take part in the celebration.
The day was full of colour, pride, and connection. Students wore traditional cultural dress, heritage-inspired outfits, or something orange to show their support for inclusiveness. Adding to the spirit of the occasion, it was also declared a No Tech Day, encouraging face-to-face interaction, mindfulness, and full participation in all the activities. The result was a celebration of culture, community, and belonging鈥攕et against the backdrop of a beautiful autumn day.
Special thanks to our student leaders, the Year 11 students participating in the leadership challenge, and our dedicated teaching staff for helping make the day such a success.
