Student opportunities and activities

At 萌妹社, we offer a variety of programs in the classroom and across the school to help students build new skills, make friends and explore new interests.

Our programs may include:

Student Leadership

Student leadership helps young people find their voices, participate in decision-making, and understand their rights and responsibilities as active citizens. It helps students have a real impact on their learning and school environment and prepares them to participate meaningfully in their community.

Students can be leaders in the classroom, through their actions in the playground, through their support for others, or their involvement in academic, sporting, cultural or local community events or projects.

We promote an inverted pyramid of leadership which emphasises the importance of service, integrity and school pride.

We firmly believe that all young people have the potential to be leaders and that leadership can manifest in many different ways, be it through involvement in academic, sporting, cultural and community pursuits. The whole school community benefits from the promotion of student voice in planning and decision-making, while our young people are empowered to be active and engaged in making choices which affect their learning.

Students don't have to be school captains or house captains to be considered leaders. We encourage our students to be leaders in the classroom and playground, through their support for other students, or their involvement in academic, sporting, cultural or community events and projects.

Our extra-curricular highlights

Trips and excursions

Our students enjoy getting out of the classroom to explore, learn and try new things. These experiences help them grow, build confidence and see how their learning connects to the world.

Our Year 7 students attended camp at the Great Aussie Bush Camp as part of their transition to high school, where they embraced every opportunity to challenge themselves, build new friendships and strengthen existing ones. From outdoor adventure activities to team-building experiences, students demonstrated resilience, cooperation and positivity. Students have developed confidence, independence and a strong sense of belonging within their cohort. We are incredibly proud of the way Year 7 represented our school.
Year 11 attended RYDA as the commencement of the Life Ready program. Ryda provides students with the tools and understanding they need to see themselves as active, responsible road citizens. Taking, largely, a student inquiry learning approach, setting up the tools, habits and motivation to take action and stay safe on our roads as both drivers and passengers throughout their lives.

Year 12 Health and Movement Science students recently participated in a depth study excursion designed to deepen their understanding of training, performance testing and recovery strategies.

The day began at Anytime Fitness, where students took part in a challenging group fitness session. Trainers guided students through a variety of training methods, allowing them to experience firsthand how different approaches can be used to develop strength, endurance and overall fitness. Students were certainly put through their paces and gained valuable insight into how training programs are designed to improve performance.

Students then visited iPerform Lab, a high-performance testing facility that provides access to sport science technology typically used by elite athletes. Here, students completed a range of fitness assessments and learned how advanced technology can be used to measure and analyse athletic performance. The experience provided a practical link to their course content, particularly the role of testing and monitoring in improving training outcomes.

To finish the day, students travelled to Gee Recovery, where they explored the importance of recovery in supporting sustained performance. Students experienced a range of recovery strategies including massage therapy, compression therapy, infrared sauna and hot and cold therapy. This provided valuable insight into how athletes use recovery techniques to reduce fatigue, prevent injury and maintain high performance levels.

The excursion offered students a unique opportunity to connect their classroom learning with real-world sport science practices. A big thank you to Anytime Fitness, iPerform Lab and Gee Recovery for providing such engaging and informative experiences for our students.
