Student Leadership
Student leadership helps young people find their voices, participate in decision-making, and understand their rights and responsibilities as active citizens. It helps students have a real impact on their learning and school environment and prepares them to participate meaningfully in their community.
Students can be leaders in the classroom, through their actions in the playground, through their support for others, or their involvement in academic, sporting, cultural or local community events or projects.

We promote an inverted pyramid of leadership which emphasises the importance of service, integrity and school pride.
We firmly believe that all young people have the potential to be leaders and that leadership can manifest in many different ways, be it through involvement in academic, sporting, cultural and community pursuits. The whole school community benefits from the promotion of student voice in planning and decision-making, while our young people are empowered to be active and engaged in making choices which affect their learning.
Students don't have to be school captains or house captains to be considered leaders. We encourage our students to be leaders in the classroom and playground, through their support for other students, or their involvement in academic, sporting, cultural or community events and projects.

Our extra-curricular highlights
Trips and excursions
Our students enjoy getting out of the classroom to explore, learn and try new things. These experiences help them grow, build confidence and see how their learning connects to the world.
ANZAC Day Ceremony
Lest we forget. On Friday 24th April our school community came together to honour the courage, sacrifice, and service of those who have served and continue to serve. We thank all students and staff who participated in our ANZAC Day ceremony facilitated by our Leadership Team and the GHS Cadets.
Beauty and the Beast
Our recent production of Beauty and the Beast was an outstanding success, showcasing the incredible talent, dedication, and collaboration of our school community. From the vibrant performances on stage to the tireless work behind the scenes, every element came together to create a truly memorable theatrical experience.
Our cast delivered engaging and heartfelt performances, bringing the beloved story to life with energy and professionalism. Equally impressive was the work of our crew, whose attention to detail in set, costumes, lighting, and sound transformed the space into a magical world. A special mention must also go to our orchestra, whose live music added depth and richness to every moment of the production.
This achievement would not have been possible without the commitment of staff, students, and the wider school community. We are incredibly proud of everyone involved and grateful for the enthusiastic support from our audiences. Congratulations to all on a remarkable production!
Geography in Action: Bobbin Head Fieldwork Adventure!
Our Year 9 Geography students are heading beyond the classroom to explore the mangrove environments at Bobbin Head, located within the beautiful Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park.
This exciting excursion puts students in the role of 鈥済eographers in action鈥 鈥 investigating how this unique environment is changing over time and what can be done to protect it into the future.
Students will build a deeper understanding of how environments like Bobbin Head function, what鈥檚 causing them to change, and why they matter. They鈥檒l explore how human activity shapes these places and consider practical ways we can better manage and protect them for the future.
Facilities and resources
Our school offers a wide range of modern facilities and high-quality resources designed to support every subject area and cater to diverse learning styles. From well-equipped science laboratories and technology workshops to creative arts spaces and collaborative learning areas, students have access to environments that inspire curiosity and innovation.
Events
Stay connected with what鈥檚 happening in our school community. Throughout the year, we host a range of events that celebrate student achievement, support learning and bring our community together.
